The perils of online press releases - new SEO advice

An important recent development relevant to the worlds of SEO and PR is that Google has recommended ALL links from online press releases to websites should be nofollowed, even if they contain direct URLs rather than anchor text.

Google is understandably equating press releases with advertising, because SEO practitioners have been “gaming the system” by manipulatively using online press releases to send link juice through to clients’ websites, boosting search engine rankings.

Your website’s performance may suffer if these new guidelines are ignored, so please take note!
