As you may be aware, Universal Analytics(UA) will stop collecting data from 1st July 2023, and your historical data will be deleted from 1st January 2024; this is because Google is pushing all businesses to move to their next generation of Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which offers more flexibility for tracking user actions, is more GPDR-compliant, with powerful analytical capabilities.
If you haven’t configured a GA4 property for your website(s) or can’t see one that has ‘GA4’ in the name, you will still be using a UA property and you’ll need to start migrating over to GA4 ASAP.
The video here demonstrates the significant reporting and navigation change, and gives you a glimpse into the many dimension and metric changes.
As well as implementing GA4 and configuring the property, your UA tracking will need to be migrated, your UA data will need to be backed up, and your Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) reports will likely need to be reconfigured.
If you haven’t already started, our partners at SiteVisibility are here to help, offering the following GA4 services :
- Property configuration, which includes migrating your UA tracking and backing up its
- ½ day of online training, with supporting resources
- Reconfiguring Looker Studio reports or configuring new ones.
Get in touch with us today and we’ll set your migration to GA4 in motion.
